San Francisco's Mandatory Soft Story Seismic Retofit Program

The City of San Francisco recently sent out notices informing property owners of Ordinance No. 66-13, which establishes a Mandatory Seismic Retrofit Program for wood frame buildings of three or more stories or two stories over a basement or underfloor that has any portion extending above grade, and containing five or more dwelling units where the permit to construct was appied for prior to Janary 1, 1978.  If you received one of these letters and have additional questions or need assistance completing this form, please feel free to email or call us for additional information.

When were lettes sent out and how long do I have to respond?

Intial letters were sent out by the City of San Francisco on September 15, 2013 notifying property owners that the initial screening form must be completed and submitted no later than September 15, 2014.

What services do you provide?

An initial on-site building evaluation will be performed to confirm relevant information required to complete the Wood- Frame Seismic Retrofit Program - Screening Form.  If it is later determined that the building is not exempt, our company specializes in permit and plan submittals for seismic retrofit work.
